Description
When I was on Gibraltar I had the (terrifying) experience of getting close to some Barbary Macaques (Macaca sylvanus), the local species that lives there. There's about 60-70 of them in total, and it's said that if the monkeys ever leave, Gibraltar will be taken back by the Spanish (it's a British colony).
My family made my walk to their habitat when we were there, and the monkeys got really close to us - one of them tried to bite my dad! I, of course, was frozen with fear because I've been bit by a monkey before, and these were even bigger. You're not allowed to touch or feed them, and even though I was trying to stay away from them, they kept approaching me (must have gotten a taste for my blood in China). I managed to get a few photos, though....barely. They were waiting for me. D: *shudders*
