(New avatar! If you know me, you probably know my continuing *fetish* for barn owls. 8D )

When I'm drawing or writing, I usually listen to music. Actually, I listen to music whenever I can. I'm not musically inclined so much when it comes to instruments, but I love to sing, and I love music that I can sing along to when I work. It's rare that I find a good artist (I'm talking musically inclined artist, not art-artist) that seems to have real talent. But I've found one.

Vienna Teng is a Taiwanese-American singer and songwriter that I discovered this summer, much thanks to my sister. She's not that well known, and I'll admit that her voice isn't anything amazingly special - it's her lyrics that really get you. She writes all of them, and she has a real talent for writing words that are poetic and beautiful but also have a way of hitting you right in the heart. And the songs themselves are beautiful.

If you love art, or if you love to write, and you want to be inspired, listen to some of the songs below. They're some of my favorites. And if you can, buy one of her CDs. Any of them. There's not really a bad song on any of them, so it doesn't matter which.

As for updates, the art trade with :iconbrennaraven: is going well, squished between making up school work and getting as much sleep as I can. I'd like to take a moment to feature her and her gallery, because she is a really great artist, and I feel she should get more popularity than she does. She's really amazing, both with watercolors and on a tablet, so take a minute to scroll through her gallery and look at some of her stuff. She's also really good at character design. :D

I'm also working on some stuff, besides the trade. Thankfully I have a load of pictures on hard copy that I'm working on as projects, including:

- The Nian (a mythic Chinese beast that appears in my story)
- Some more pterian stuff (hopefully a ref)
- A new ID
- A picture of Ankh (a sphinx from my story and my favorite character)
- Some moar steampunk stuff. :3

By the way, I just want to say thanks to all the watchers, and to everyone who stumbles upon my page. I've gotten a *bit* more popularity lately, just a bit, and I'm grateful for all of it. You guys rock. I'm 90% sure my parents are giving me a one-year subbie for Christmas, which will be really fun. And my sister asked for a tablet of her own, so if she gets one, I won't be guilt-tripped into letting her use mine *cough* and being forced to replace parts that she broke. :3

Listen to those songs! Not kidding - they're really beautiful. And happy NaNoWriMo to all participating in it.

Story Update: 109k, hope to finish writing by Christmas. Editing comes after that.
